SEEK Development Project Manager Raimund Zühr was quoted by the global development news outlet Devex in an article on the blowback surrounding a political appointment to the German Corporation for International Development (GIZ). The article contends that the appointment was viewed as politically motivated, rather than on merit, but the controversy it provoked demonstrates the growing importance of global development in German politics.
Devex has published a blog post on a policy paper co-authored by SEEK Development examining the potential support for global public goods (GPGs) from four organizations that provide the most development assistance for health: Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance (Gavi); the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (the Global Fund); the World Bank, including the Global Financing Facility; and the World Health Organization (WHO), including the Global Polio Eradication Initiative.
