Sophie von Hatzfeldt
Sophie von Hatzfeldt is a Consultant at SEEK Development. She conducts research and analyses on international development policy, supports clients in their strategy development and stakeholder engagement, and analyses development financing strategies, including trends in Italy and the European Union. Her recent work has analyzed the impact of the refugee crisis on development financing and on organizational strategies. Some of the organizations she has worked with include Gavi, BMGF and Plan International.
Prior to joining SEEK, Sophie managed the European program at Democracy International, leading advocacy and campaigns on democratic reform in EU policy-making. She previously worked with the United Nations (ECLAC) and the German Agency for Development Cooperation (GIZ) in Latin America and in China, and worked on human rights protection while interning at Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch.
Sophie holds a Master of Public Policy, where she focused on international governance and democratization, and a BA in Development Studies and International Law from Utrecht University, the Netherlands. Sophie speaks English, German, French and Spanish fluently, and is proficient in Italian and Nepali.
